Battery is an important game mechanic in Death Forest. It is required to collect more batteries while playing the game or else you will run out of battery and die from Yoshie, an animation of Yoshie jumpscaring the player playing. When the player has ran out of battery, there is a certain amount of time before Yoshie appears, meaning that if the player can collect another battery while their flashlight is dead, they can save themselves from being killed and their flashlight will work again.
